St. Louis, MO - Greater Than Games announced today its return to original owners, Paul Bender and Christopher Badell, marking an exciting new chapter for the tabletop game publisher.
Greater Than Games was founded in 2011 by Christopher Badell, Adam Rebottaro, and Paul Bender with their flagship game, Sentinels of the Multiverse. In a decade of business, they brought over 50 immersive and dynamic titles to the tables of fans and board game enthusiasts.
In 2021, Flat River Group, an e-commerce distributor, acquired Greater Than Games with plans to grow further in the tabletop gaming industry. In April 2025, FRG announced that they were reducing the GTG team and halting all new projects in response to ongoing economic pressures.
In April of 2026, Handelabra Games, the video game developer behind the digital version of Sentinels of the Multiverse, purchased the rights to the Greater Than Games brand and its flagship IP, Sentinel Comics.
Today marks the beginning of the next chapter for Greater Than Games, as it returns to its home with founding team members Christopher Badell and Paul Bender.
“Greater Than Games has always been about more than just publishing games — it’s about building experiences and communities. Over the years, the brand has grown and evolved, but its heart has always been with the people who create and play these games. Being able to steward that again is both a responsibility and a privilege. We’re excited to reconnect with our community and continue building something special.”
- Paul Bender (Chief Executive Officer)
Badell and Bender are joined by GTG veterans SaRae Henderson (Art Director), Matthew Kroll (Creative Director), and Katie Nale (Chief Operating Officer).
Along with the brand Greater Than Games, Badell and Bender have also obtained the rights to their original IP, Sentinel Comics, which includes the Sentinels of the Multiverse cooperative card game line, and Sentinel Comics: The Roleplaying Game.
“A year ago, I wasn’t sure I’d ever get to come back to this. Sentinel Comics has been the defining creative work of my life — fifteen years of stories, characters, and worlds I love — and watching it become uncertain was genuinely painful. So when I say this feels like coming home, I mean it. I’m back in the Multiverse. We all are. And we’re just getting started.”
-Christopher Badell (Chief Creative Officer)
Badell and original Sentinel Comics artist and co-creator Adam Rebottaro will be working together on new and exciting content in the Sentinel Comics Multiverse, starting with reprints of all existing Definitive Edition products for Sentinels of the Multiverse and then moving on to a new expansion, coming to crowdfunding in 2027.
The Greater Than Games team has been quietly building toward a stronger future for its beloved games and tight-knit community. That momentum is already taking shape, with two brand-new titles slated to release this summer.
